Recognizing this hurdle, the Government of Gujarat has introduced a transformative initiative – the Market Development Assistance to MSME manufacturing sector participation in exhibitions, spanning various levels from local to international. This scheme, facilitated by the Industries & Mine Department, is designed to empower MSMEs in Gujarat by providing crucial support to participate in exhibitions, both domestically and internationally.
Scheme Overview: The Market Development Assistance to MSME manufacturing sector participation in exhibitions operates under Resolution No. SSI-102020-332349-CH, issued on 01/09/2020, with an operative period from 07/08/2020 to 06/08/2025.
Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for this scheme, MSME enterprises must operate within the manufacturing sector in the state of Gujarat during the scheme’s operative period.
Assistance and Conditions: Under this scheme, MSMEs can avail assistance based on the level of the exhibition they intend to participate in, subject to the following conditions:
- State Level Exhibition: MSMEs can receive assistance equivalent to 75% of the rent paid or a maximum of INR 50,000, whichever is lower.
- National Level Exhibition: Assistance is provided at 75% of the rent paid or a maximum of INR 1 lakh, whichever is lower.
- International National Level Exhibition (Within India): MSMEs can receive assistance amounting to 75% of the rent paid or INR 2 lakhs, whichever is lower.
- International National Level Exhibition (Outside India): Assistance is available at 60% of the rent paid or INR 5 lakhs, whichever is lower.
Additional Conditions:
- The assistance will be provided by way of reimbursement to the enterprises.
- International level exhibitions must be approved by Ministry of MSME, ITPO, EEPC, FIEO, etc., and approved by SLEC to be eligible under the scheme.
- Proposals under this scheme will be sanctioned and disbursed by the General Manager DIC.
- Minimum stall requirements: 100 stalls at the state level exhibition, 200 stalls at the national level exhibition, 400 stalls at the international level exhibition (within India), and 400 stalls at the international level exhibition (outside India). Additionally, 15% or more of total stalls must be foreign exhibitors.
- Total assistance from state Govt. and Government of India should not exceed 75% of the total expenditure incurred for the exhibition.
- Indian organizations or associations participating in exhibitions abroad or organizing exhibitions in foreign countries will not be eligible under this scheme.
Application and Disbursement Process: Interested MSMEs can submit their applications online within six months from the last date of participation in an international trade fair outside of India. The District Industries Centres (DICs) will then verify the details, scrutinize the applications, and sanction the incentives accordingly. Disbursement of the sanctioned amount will be done by the concerned DICs, subject to the availability of funds.
